Greene County's wills have been microfilmed, in preference to the public handling (and eventually destroying) the originals. James wrote his will 30 Jul 1877; it was recorded 21 Feb 1880. But on the film is a card with the following: "Filming too poor -- see original will. Wits: Joseph H. Usrey, Martin T. Walker."S6 However, after two extended research trips to the Greene County courthouse, I was unable to locate the original document, nor could two clerks find it. I must assume it's missing -- perhaps having been "borrowed" by some other family researcher since the filming twenty years ago. --Mike (mksmith) 20:03, 28 May 2009 (EDT)
