Pendleton, pg. 404: James Cecil, later, settled at the head of Baptist Valley, where he built the house now owned and occupied as a residence by Fullen Thompson. That is, possibly the oldest house in Tazewell County that is now used as a dwelling.

    viii. James Cecil. James was born about 1764 in Virginia. He served in the Revolution from Montgomery County, and was a justice with his brother William from Tazewell County when it was formed in 1800. He died about 1838 in Tazewell County, Virginia.
    James married Margaret (Peggy) Wysor 25 December 1787 in Montgomery County, Virginia.
