2 May 1912, p 3 - The TRIBUNE received a letter from Mrs. Grace Carpenter Fox dated New York City, April 24, announcing the death of her brother, James Carpenter, on April 21, at the home of his mother, 665 West 70th street. While he has been sick with Bright's disease for some time, his death came suddenly and was a great shock to the family, made more so because it is the first death in this family of children. Mr. Carpenter was born in Cambridge City and was well known to many of our citizens. He was a young man of splendid character, excellent business qualifications and for several years has been prominently connected with the Hall Safe Co., of Hamilton, Ohio. His remains were brought to Dayton, Ohio, for burial. The news of his death will be a blow to the friends of the family here.
