    - 22 Jan 1891, p 3 - Charles Carpenter, son of James W. Carpenter, formerly of this place, is a member of the famous Princeton College Quartette, now making a tour of the principal cities of this country.

    - 19 Jan 1928, p 5 - Friends here received the sad intelligence of the death on Sunday of Charles Underwood Carpenter, son of the late James W. Carpenter, which occurred at Floral Park, Long Island, N.Y. The deceased was born in Cambridge City, 56 years ago, but has resided away from here since quite young. The remains were brought to Dayton, Ohio for burial in the family lot in Wood Lawn Cemetery, on Thursday.
