    While indexed as 1857 at Ancestry.com, it appears that this page (image 13 of 17) refers to 1859. The year 1857 appears on images 1-6, at the end of which is a certification that the records were reviewed (in June 1858). There does not appear to be a year on the remaining images, but based on a page break, images 7-12 appear to form one year (1858), and images 13-17 another (1859). Thus, it appears that Jacob was born in Jan 1859. However, it is possible that his birth record was included in the wrong list (that is, the list for 1859 when it should have been the list for 1858).

If he was born 31 Jan 1858, it was less than 11 months after his sister Laura - certainly possible. But he may have been born 31 Jan 1859 as suggested by the list of birth records.
