  • Burruss, Jacob - entered service 1778 in Orange County, Virginia; received Pension abt. age 77 in Smith County, Tennessee, 1832, where he died 10/1/1832; married 3/1781 Susannah, daughter of Gen. Joseph Martin, Henry County, Virginia; widow received Pension abt. age 75 in Smith County, Tennessee, 1838; widow was sister of William Martin who abt. age 66 there in 1832. R429.
