  3.   Source:Essex Genealogist (Massachusetts) (Essex Society of Genealogists), "Hugh Alley of Lynn, and His Descendants" by Marcia Wiswall Lindberg, Vol. 18, p. 19, says Jacob d. Lynn 25 Jan 1674. No such death record is found, and this appears to be a mis-reading of Savage's crabbed text where Savage says Jacob "5 Sep. 1663; d. 25 Jan 1674". The semi-colon ends Jacob's entry, and no where else is Hugh's recorded death given, so it does not appear Savage intended this as Jacob's death date. (If he did, it cannot be verified.) Jacob is not mentioned in his father's 1673 will, but neither are children Hannah or Hugh who were alive, so it is not clear this is a valid indication he died before 1673. Torrey indicates Jacob lived and was the father of a son Jacob in 1687 in Charlestown with wife Anna.
