Obituary: Paper and date unknownIvy Harris Dies: Funeral is MondayIvy Viola Harris, 84, a life long resident of Benton county, died Thursday evening at the Salem General Hospital.The daughter of Charles D and Lucy Custer Smith, early Oregon pioneers, she was born in Corvallis on 5 May, 1880. On 27 June 1900, she was married to George H. Harris in Corvallis and the couple moved to the Wren community where she has lived her entire life. Mr. Harris died in 1956.Survivors include one son, Gerald A. Harris, Three daughters, Mrs. A.C. (Violet) Taylor, Mrs. H. H. (Mabel) Makinster, Corvallis, and Mrs. J. M. (Alice) Taylor, Salem; two brothers, E. E. Smith, Irish Bend, and Virgil Smith, Corvallis; 10 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the DeMoss - Durdan Funeral Home with Rev. Walter C. Hines officiating. Internment will follow in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
