The 1901 census shows her living in Listowel with the children. 41 96 Cullers Isibella F Head M Nov 11 1854 age 46 42 96 Cullers Jane F Daughter S Dec 22 1884 age16 43 96 Sh??? Jannet F Sister S 1860 age 40 There is a slight discrepancy in her date of birth. Since this would be a self report( as head of household, Isabella would have been responsible for filling in and filing the forms) I might tend to give more credence to this date however the misspelling of the surname makes me wonder...

According to her obituary in 1933, she moved back to Listowel "forty years ago" which would have her returning about 1893. The obituary also mention"her house on Inkerman Street". Henry Cullen (her eldest son) is known to have owned 440 Inkerman St. It is possible that this house was originally hers. It is known that she supported the family by taking in laundry and by doing dressmaking. When Thomas E. Shearer's daughter Elizabeth trained for a nurse, it was Isabella Cullen who made her uniform. Since her father passed away in 1900, it is possible that she bought the house in Listowel with the proceeds from his estate.
