Facts and Events
In 1850, 1860 he lived Cohocton, Steuben, New York; in 1865 in Wayland, Steuben, New York; in 1870 in Groveland, Livingston, New York. In 1872, his son, Willard, was born in Echo Twp., Antrim, Michigan. He enlisted in the civil war in Elmira New York in 1861 and mustered out in 1863. He was in Company F 35th New York Infantry, per tombstone, and pension file index where Jane is listed as his widow. He homesteaded in Michigan December 3 1879. On September 9, 1879 he witnessed the deed for William and Jane Hosler (his future wife) when they sold their homestead to their son, John. In 1880 when he married Jane he was a minister and at other times he was an elder. From July 1888 until June 1897 he was admitted three times to the North-Western Branch National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers in Milwaukee Wisconsin. His residence was in Charlevoix Michigan. He was a widower and his next of kin was son, Charles, of East Jordan Michigan. He is not with his wife Jane on the 1900 census. He is not mentioned in Grace Hooper's Pioneer Notes. References
