Ida was a hard worker. She loved to sew, cook, garden, can. She was an excellent homemaker.

She was a widow when she died. She married Dorl Smith, the father of her children. Then after Dorl's death she married an old friend, Raymond Holderman. Obituary

Mrs Ida Smith Holderman, 80 of Zephyr Hills, FL, and a former Cassopolis resident, died Tues. afternoon at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, N.J., where she was visiting her son. She was born Oct. 25, 1900, in Whitley County, IN. She married Dorl P Smith in 1919 and he died in 1957. She then married Raymond Holderman in 1959 and he died in 1969. She is survived by one son, Jack Smith of Mendham, NJ; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Hertsel (Esther) of Elkhart, IN and Mrs. Melvin Scott (Marjorie) of Zephr Hills, FL; 19 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Also surviving are: five sisters: Mrs. Roy Weatherbee (Gertrude) of Three Rivers, Mrs. Russell Leach (Alberta) of Edwardsburg, Mrs. Maynard Wilson (Helen) and Mrs. Walter (Kathryn) both of Cassopolis, and Mrs. William Kelly (Jane) of Kalkaska, MI; three brothers: Adrian Tyler of St. Louis, MI, Doug Tyler of Cassopolis, and Roscoe Tyler of Boring, Oregon.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sat. at 11 a.m. in the Connelly funeral home in Cassopolis, with burial at Prairie Grove Cemetery, Penn Township. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday after 2 p.m.

She was a member of the Diamond Lake Home Economics Club for many years.

The 1920 Census showed Ida living with her parents in Jefferson Twp., Cass County, MI

Added Note: Dorl was the youngest child of James and Sabina Smith and Ida was the oldest child of Lewis "Bert" and Mary Jane Mohn.
