Hugo and his sister Lydia emigrated to the United States in 1913, aboard the SS Empress of Ireland, arriving in Quebec on 23 May 1913. He was a Corporal in the U S Army June 24 1918 - Feb 24 1919. He is buried at Crystal Lake Cemetery in Minneapolis MN. Hugo had light brown hair and blue eyes, according to U S WWI draft registration.
