English playwright, historian, critic and convert. Between 1925 and 1942 - Williamson made a considerable reputation as an editor, playwright, an historian and a member of the Labour Party in Parliament (?) and a lecturer. In 1943, he became an Anglican clergyman. In October, 1955, he inspired the opposition to the Church of England's recognition of the Church of South India; and when the Anglican Church refused to rescind its decision, he submitted immediately to the Church of Rome. Times 11 Nov 1930 reported the engagement of HRW to Katherine Burgoyne Miller daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Wolstencroft Jones, of Headingley, Leeds.
