Facts and Events
Hubert John Spire was born in 1886 at Bidford-on-Avon in Warwickshire, son of Ellen Spire, formerly Belcher, and her husband Jabez William Spire, a gardener and labourer. Hubert was the fourth of the couple's eight children. Shortly after his birth the family left Bidford, moving initially to the hamlet of Broom just outside Bidford, where Hubert's brother William was born in 1888, then five miles north to the small town of Alcester where Hubert's brother Ernest was born in 1890. The 1891 census finds Hubert living with his parents and siblings at The Moors in Alcester. By 1901 they had moved to the other side of the town centre, living at Gas House Lane. Hubert was working as a spring maker at this time.
Hubert has yet to be researched after 1901.
