  2.   Death Notice, in Unknown Newspaper.

A highly esteemed citizen of Mason County answered the summons to the spirit world.Hoover Hall, the son of Hoover and Mahala Hall was born in Mason County, West Virginia, November 24, 1877. Departed this life for his eternal home beyond the stars December 26, 1926, aged 49 years, I month and 2 days. When a young man, he went to Kentucky and married Milly Maynard and to this union six children were born, one of whom and the wife died several years ago. He was united in marriage again and this time to Catherine Stewart and to this union three children were born. The second wife also preceded him to the spirit world and after her death he returned to Mason County and for almost three years preceding his death he lived with his sister, Mrs. Mollie League near Beech Hill. He leaves the following eight children: Dallas, Daniel, Homer, Lorena, Lorane, Minnie Mae, Roy Mason, and Maggie. Also two brothers, J.W. and S.L. Hall of Kentucky, and the following sisters: Mrs. Bertie Lanier, Mrs. Molly League, Mrs. Otie Knapp of Arbuckle District, Mrs. Allie Mitchell of Indiana, and Mrs. Letha Taylor of Winfield. While living in Kentucky, he joined the Baptist Church. Many times during his illness he said he was prepared for the future world and was ready to go whenever the Lord called him. He was an honest, upright, hard working man and devoted to the welfare of his family. He was a loving father and brother and possessed a generous nature and was ever ready t o help anyone in need. He was sick a long time, but bore the suffering with patience and fortitude that was particularly noble. He has a host of friends around here and in Kentucky who are filled with sorrow and regret by his death. Funeral services were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. League, where he died, by Reverend King and then the remains were taken to Pine Grove Church where a short service was held after which he was laid to rest in the Pine Grove Cemetery. Sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved family in this their hour of sorrow.
