The book Counting Kindred by Christian Deppin presents a history of Christian Ruchty and collateral family lines. On page 226 of this volume, it mentions that after Henry Weidner first went to North Carolina he returned to Pennsylvania and on "one return trip brought a wife Mary Mull and a youth Conrad Yoder- ancestors of a large and esteemed posterity." Richard H Yoder of Bechtelsville checked with Helen Weidner in Reading (a historian of the Weidner family), who said that Henry Weidner was from the Epharts area in Berks County and had been disowned by his mother since he would not stay on the farm. He was rather "footloose". He married Mary Mull in 1748, and if the above statement is correct, that may have been the year Conrad Yoder joined the growing community of ex-Pennsylvanians in North Carolina. http://yodernewsletter.org/YNL/vol23.html ______________________________________________

12 Feb 2001 Hi list, we are the Weidner's/Whitners that left N.C. and went to MO., we also are related to Henry Weidner and from the story we have the name changed a number of times before it became Whitener. The family came from England and Henry 1 belonged to the royal family, he was way down on the list for the throne.. but he fled to America.. do any of you know about this story??? Please let me know. I am trying to get info on the cemetary at the Ephrata Cloister .. Will be contacting the State Historical Society who now owns it. Peters father was born in Germany about 1640 and dies in germany. Peter and Catherine son Johann Heinrich Weidner was born in Coburg, Saxony, Germany Oct 9 1717, came toAmerica with them and Married Mary Catherine Muehle or Mull (Born May 24, 1733 Goshenhoppen, Philadelphia Co. PA Died Aug 20, 1804 Lincolnton, Lincoln, NC) Johann Died July 21, 1792 Linccolnton , Lincoln, NC...They had Daughter Elizabeth Weidner ( I was following her line down to my husband) Born 1764 Lincolnton, Lincoln NC Died Oct. 21 1827 Lincoln NC.. Married Henry Summerour born 1759 PA . Married Elizabeth on Oct 8 1784 Lincoln NC and Died 1836 Lincolnton, Lincoln NC..I have more on the Summerour/Summerrow/ Sumrow Clan...
