Henry Wax married the first time to Margaret Geschwind on May 11, 1767 in Alsace, Berks County, Pennsylvania.and soon added to his lands on December 27, 1770 when Henry's father deeded him 190 acres. He sold 13 acres of Alsace Township to Eberhard Smith on January 23, 1776. He also sold 190 acres of Alsace Township to William Green.

In The Revolutionary War, Henry was a Sergent in Captain Daniel DeTurk's Company of Berks County, Pennsylvania from 1776 to 1778 for Olney Township and he was commissioned Captain for his own Company in Alsace Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania Militia on January 5, 1784.

On April 6,1786, Henry sold the remainder of his land to Joe Hiester in Alsace Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania (Deed Book 9, Page 341, Reading Records) and moved his family to Winchester, Frederick County, Virginia. On December 8, 1789 he bought 168 acres of land west of the town of Fincastle from Andrew Henry, a former owner of Miller's Mill and there in becoming the new owner. Henry bought a considerable amount of land around Fincastle and was one of the largest land owners in Botetourt County, Virginia. The hill immeadiatly west of Fincastle is still known as Wax's Hill. Henry became an Tavern/Inn Keeper when he was issued a licence to do so January 13, 1794. Henry also owned land in Greenbriar County, Virginia.

After his first wife died, he married Cathrine Kerns Keyser on May 01, 1791 in Botetourt County, Virginia or Lewisberg, West Virginia. Henry died November 06, 1796. He is buried at The Church of England Cemetery, Fincastle, Botetourt County, Virginia - now Fincastle Presbyterian Cemetery. His wives are though to also be buried there. There is a monument erected by the DAR in the cemetery for Revolutionary War soldiers who are buried there. Henry Wax's name is on it.

Last Will And Testament Of Henry Wax
By the permission of Almighty God, I Henry Wax of the County of Botetourt and State of Virginia, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner following (that is to say):
First it is my will that all such debts as I shall justly owe, at the time of my decease, and my funeral charges and expenses be in the first place paid by my Executors herein after named; and as to my Estate both real and personal, I dispose thereof in manner following (that is to say).
I give devise and bequeath unto my wife Catherine Wax and her heirs forever, two hundred and fifty five acres of land with all its appurtenances, lying and being in the county of Greenbriar, on Muddy Creek, which was granted to me under the lesser(?) Seal of the Commonwealth of Virginia, by patent bearing date the twentieth day of November in the year one thousand seven hundred and ninety two.
All the rest of my estate whether real or personal, in possession, reversion, remainder or expectancy, I give and devise unto Nicholas Carper, Peter Moffsinger and Christian Harshbargin my Executors as herein after appointed and their heirs, to the uses upon the trust and for the intents and purposes herein after expressed and contained of and concerning the same; (that is to say) that my said Executors do make sale of all my said property hereby vested in them, in such manner and at such time as to them may seem most advantageous and advisable and the proceeds thereof (after paying all my just debts) to divide equally and share and share alike amongst my following children, sons in law and grandchild, Viz.: George Etter, Peter Wax, John Wax, Henry Wax, Jacob Wax, Henry Price, Mary Wax, Christiana Wax, Margaret Hatsinnnpiller, Mandeline Wax, Hannah Wax, Hetty Wax, Susannah Wax, and Mary Boyer my granddaughter.
It is my will and desire and I do hereby direct and appoint that my said Executors shall have the guardianship and tuition of such of my children as are minors at the time of my decease; and that they make such appropriation or use of their share of my estate during such minority for the purposes aforesaid, as they in their discretion may deem most advantageous and advisable. And I do hereby make, nominate, and appoint my friends Nicholas Carper, Peter Noffsinger, and Christian Harshbargan my Executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made and do declare this only to be my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fifth day of October in the year of Christ one thousand seven hundred and ninety six.

This last will and testament of Henry Wax deceased was exhibited into Court and proved by the oaths of Michael Book and Jacob Carper two of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded and on the motion of Nicholas Carper, Christian Harshbargin and Peter Noffsinger the Executors therein named who having first made oath entered into and acknowledged bond with security according to law certificate is granted them for abstaining a probate thereof or other form.
