Facts and Events
FGS William Shepherd, son of Nathaniel. According to Joseph Russell Shepherd in MY ANCESTRY, Henry lived in Boston near London, England. "He raised quite a large family all of whom were highly respected by their neighbors, and by all who knew them; I believe he was a Congregationalist in religious faith, a very honest, sober and exemplary man. He had several children whose names I am sorry to state I am at present unable to give. He lived to the ripe ole age of over ninety, having but recently passed away. He was a pensioner of the British Government, having served as a Custom House officer. He was a very prominent Free Mason and attained to the highest degree of that order. At his funeral great honor was shown him, especially by the Masonic fraternity. Tracey Call's genealogy book, 1933: "Henry Shepherd was a custom-house officer interested in choir. Henry later transferred to Boston, Eng. as collector of Customs for many years - died at more than 90." not Mormon. Marriage date from Eugene Poulsen Shepherd, 705 Washington, Montpelier, Idaho References
