Henry's will:

In the name of God, Amen. I Henry Hannon Senior of the Township of Glanford, County of Wentworth and Province of Upper Canada, being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory, blessed be Almighty God for the same, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following. That is to say. First I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Margaret my house and lots in the Town of Hamilton in the County, district and Province aforesaid, known as follows. By being Lots number Sixty three and Sixty four also that part of the house wherein she resideth with the furniture thereunto belonging. With two cows and a sufficient quantity of firewood. I do bequeath to my son Samuel twenty shillings currency. I do bequeath to my son Henry thirty eight acres of land which is Known by being the South end of the West side of lot number fifteen in the second concession of Glanford aforesaid. I bequeath to my son Josph, and his heirs and assigns forever all that Assuage or tenement lying and being in the Township of Glanford known as Lot number fourteen in the first concession Glanford aforesaid and fifty acres known as the north end of the West side of Lot number fifteen in the second concession of Glanford aforesaid to hold to him and his heirs and assigns forever. Except the Joseph having no heirs the assuage or tenement aforesaid, to be divided share and share alike amongst my grandchildren. And lastly, all the remainder of my lands and tenements, goods and chattels to be sold and appropriated with the debts due me towards the purchase of Lot number fourteen an the second concession of Glanford aforesaid (Reserving twenty five pounds currency be paid to my daughter Mary and likewise such sum as may be sufficient to pay all my just debts that I may owe at my Death) which said parcel of land I bequeath to my son Andrew his heirs and assigns forever, the possession of which he now has, with a reservation of fifty acres of the East side of the said Lot to be divided equally between my sons Henry and Joseph aforesaid. I hereby appoint my beloved wife Margaret Executrix and my sons Samuel and henry Executors to this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the twenty ninth day of November in the year of Our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and thirty one

Henry his X mark Hannon Senior Signed Sealed and Published and Declared by the above named Henry Hannon Senior to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who have hereunto Subscribed our names as witnesses in the presence of the testator. Signed D.K. Servos, James Glover, Robert Mullen.

By James Taylor Esquire Judge of the Surrogate Court of Gore. The original hereof was proved and approved and insinuated into the Registry of the Surrogate Court of Gore and probate herof granted unto Samuel Hannon and Henry Hannon two of the Executors therein mentioned on the eighth of October Eighteen hundred and thirty two. In Testimony Whereof I the said judge have hereunto Subscribed my name and caused the Seal of the said Surrogate Court of Gore to be affixed an the day and year above written.

  2.   Henry Hannon, Sr., is reputed to have served in the British Navy during the American Revolution, although that remains to be proven.

    So far I've found no Henry Hannon of New York registered to fight for the Colonies during the revolution. There for I believe, IF he was born in New York, he may have been a Loyalist and removed by British to Canada.
