Henry took out the first water for irrigation purposes fromthe Weber River and assisted to erect a fort in the same place. Henry was called east to help with belated hand cart emigrants in 1856, and was called to go to Devil's Gate to take supplies to men stationed there. He participated in an expedition to Echo Canyon in 1857, serving in the first Calvary which went to meet Johnson's army. He brought a threshing machine to the Valley in 1866. Henry was arrested on the charge of unlawful co-habitation and was released from the Utah Penitentiary February, 1888.
