- ↑ Winchendon VRs guesses at the birth years of both Joseph and Henry, the page being damaged. It has Joseph b. 1 Jul 1783 and Henry b. 1 Dec 1785, both with question marks. Joseph's age at death works out exactly to 1 Jul 1786, so it would seem Joseph's guess is wrong (their brother Nathaniel's guess was shown to be quite a bit off as well). We have no such help with Henry. It is unclear what the compiler's used to generate their guesses. Was Henry listed below, i.e., after Joseph? Is so, that would suggest Henry would be 1 Dec 1787 or later, though the mother would be getting a little old to be having children. On the other hand, moving Joseph to 1786 opens up a gap for a child in the 1783-1784 timeframe suggesting Henry could be 1 Dec 1783, unless there is a specific reason for thinking he is born after Joseph.
Source:Baughman, Abraham J. Past and Present of Wyandot County, Ohio, vol. 2, p. 143, may be describing this Henry Barrett. While he was not born in New Hampshire, his father moved there. This gives a birth date of 1 Dec 1786, one would presume from talking to his grandson. If this is the correct Henry, he moved to Ohio, and thus appears to the this Henry in the 1820 census (sixth from bottom) in Porter, Scioto, Ohio; this Henry in the 1840 census (middle of page) in Harrison, Scioto, Ohio; and this Henry in the 1850 census (household 42) in Harrison, Scioto, Ohio. These, particularly, the last, suggest 1 Dec 1786 might be correct. Similar investigations of the census for Joseph suggest his age at death is probably wrong, and he was born about 1783.
