    MORRILTON - Helen Alexander Lewis, 86, of Morrilton, the widow of Rev. Horace M. Lewis, died Tuesday. She was a retired legal secretary, member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include one son, Dr. H.M. Lewis, jr., Georgetown, Kentucky, daughter, Betty Coombs, Conway; two grandchildren. Graveside services will be 10:00 Thursday at Elmwood Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 11:00 at the First United Methodist Church by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Family hour will be from 3:00-5:00 Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Organ Fund.

    Helen Alexander Lewis

    Mrs. Helen Alexander Lewis, age 86, of Morrilton, widow of Rev. Horace M. Lewis, Sr., died Tuesday August 10, 1993. She was born August 22, 1906 in Elvaston, Illinois, only child of Charles B. Alexander and Gertrude Kirkpatrick Alexander. Mrs. Lewis was a retired legal secretary. She was a life-long Methodist, and First United Mehthodist Church of Morrilton (sic.).
    Mrs. Lewis married Rev. Lewis in 1994, and shared his life and work in the active ministry until he retired in 1961. During this time he/they served churches in Forrest City, Springdale, Stuttgart, Harrison, and North Little Rock, Arkansas. Upon his retirement they moved to Morrilton and made their home there.
    Survivors include one son, Dr. H.M. Lewis, Jr., of Georgetown, Kentucky, one daughter Betty Coombs of Conway, and two grandsons.
    She was buried at Elmwood Cemetery in Morrilton on august 12, 1993, (sic.) with a memorial service immediately following at First United Methodist Church of Morrilton.

    Mrs. Helen Alexander Lewis, 86, of Morrilton, mother of Betty L. Coombs of Conway, died yesterday (Aug. 10, 1993).
    Born Aug. 22, 1906, in Elvaston, Ill., a daughter of the late Charles B. and Gertrude Kirkpatrick Alexander, she was a retired legal secretary, the widow of the Rev. Horace M. Lewis Sr. and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Morrilton. Other survivors are a son, Dr. H.M. Lewis Jr. of Georgetown, Ky.; and two grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Elmwood Cemetery. A memmorial service will follow at 11 at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim West officiating. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home Inc. of Morrilton. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Organ Fund.
