Anne Love offered this information: "August H. Reisland sailed with his father in 1857. The 1880 Census states he came from Saxony rather than Prussia. He was a baker. He married Elizabeth, who came from Hessen in 1860. They are buried at Monroe Street Cemetery. The family lived on Sage Street, and as the children married, many of them moved into another house on the same street.

Paul Hartman's research: 1880 Census lived at 70 Jersey St Cleve. OH ED 34 St 73 1900--living at 32 Sage Ave ED 200 St 12. Arrived on ship "Onward" Hamburg to NY 6/23/1857.

Wally Reisland remembered: August was a carpenter and a baker in the winter. He married into a family that were bakers. He didn't have steady work as a carpenter in the winter (because work would shut down due to the weather), so he helped in the bakery. He would tend the fires for the oven.
