When Heinrich's first wife died she left him with 6 children. He and his sister-in-law (who had lost her husband, Heinrich's brother) lived together without benefit of marriage until long after their only son together was born. Joseph, their only son together, remembers seeing his parents get married. It was explained that marrying would be an economic hardship (insurance?).

There are no pictures of Heinrich . . . only one of his tombstone upon which it is noted that the stone was a gift from his children (Joseph and Mary) in America.

His Hungarian name is Imre.

There's a discrepancy of dates for Grandfather's year and month of birth. I have my dates from the tombstone picture. When we visited Semlak, we could not find his tombstone in the Reformierte Cemetery. It had been explained to us that people had been stealing old stones, blasting off the names and etching new names on them.

In the record for his marriage to Sussana in 1906, it says he is 62 meaning he was born in 1844.

In the record of his death on February 8, 1919, it says he was 78 years old and that his birthday was September 28, 1841. it is all very confusing but that is one of the problems encountered by genealogists. However, in the Familienbuch of the Reformierte Church, he is listed as being born in 1841 and dying in 1919.
