  2.   Source:Stearns, Ezra S. Genealogical and Family History of the State of New Hampshire, p. 3:1120, identifies the wife of Dr. James Pecker as Susannah Cogswell, d/o John Cogswell and Susanna Low. (Source:Roberts, Gary Boyd. American Ancestors and Cousins of the Princess of Wales apparently copies this.) The only problem is that there is no birth record to prove her parentage or name, the marriage record says Hannah, the births of all 8 recorded children call the mother Hannah, the death record and gravestone say Hannah. There are two ready explanations for the possible confusion: 1) Confusion with his uncle James who did have a wife named Susannah, and 2) Since the first daughter died young, a person only aware of surviving children might think Susannah was the oldest daughter, and then assume she was named after the mother. But no contemporary record seems to say Susannah. So naturally, one also wonders: are these the right parents then?
