More than one source has referred to Griffith Evans, age 40, a political prisoner, who was transported to Barbados from England, 19 Dec 1635, aboard the Falcon. A son, Peter Evans, immigrated from Barbados to Northumberland county, Virginia, in 1650, with wife Elizabeth Perry and children: Peter, John, Richard, and Sarah. From Edna M. Shannonhouse, compiler & ed., Year Book Pasquotank Historical Society, Vol. 4 (1983). p. 179: "Our Virginia branch of the Evans family begins with Griffith Evans who was a political prisoner and is found bound for Barbados in 1635. Hew as a son of Ievan living in 1601 who descended from David Goch of Pennellech of Carvenshire [Carnarvonshire?] in the reign of Edward I and was living Nov. 9, 1314. Ievan being the tenth in line from David Goch." References
