Mrs. Grace Coon Place, for many years a resident of Milton and Milton Junction, died in Bethesda hospital, Hornell, N. Y., on October 25, 1946, after an illness of six weeks. Funeral services were held from the Milton Junction Seventh Day Baptist church on October 29.

Born near Owego, N. Y., January 26, 1865, she was the daughter of Albert and Alvira Green Clarke and moved to this vicinity as a girl with the family. She had a brother Charles Clarke who was principal of the Albion academy, and two sisters, Dr. Ella Crandall Smart, and Kate who was a graduate nurse near New York City, all of whom are deceased.

She was married to George W. Coon on June 22, 1898, and to them were born three children, Marion, Mrs. Merle Deardorff, LaGrange, Ill.; Charles Clarence and Lawrence Loraine, both of whom reside in the East. She is survived also by four step-children, Ross C. Coon, Milton; Dr. Wallace W. Coon, Walworth; Lillian, Mrs. Albert Webster, LaGrange, and Carroll Coon, Madison.

She was a member of the Milton Seventh Day Baptist church, and upon her marriage transferred to the Milton Junction church where her membership remained until her death.
Services were conducted by Dr. Edwin Ben Shaw and the Rev. Willard D. Babcock. Burial was in the Milton Junction cemetery.
