15. Gowry Waugh (7.Joseph3, 2.Joseph2, 1.John1) b. ca. 1734, m. ca. 1760, in "Hickory Hill", Westmoreland Co., VA, Letitia "Lettice" Turberville, b. 1735, "Hickory Hill", Westmoreland Co., VA, (daughter of George Turberville, Maj. and Martha Lee) d. bef 1781. Gowry died 1783, "Bell Plain", Stafford Co., VA. (1800, High Court of Chancery. Browne & al. v. Turberville & al.). (VA Will Records, p.619). Letitia: Per Gott article, one source states that Lettice was a daughter of George's second wife Lettice Fitzhugh. [DT Note: that seems reasonable to me.] However, Tricia Petitt's own file states: "Was given 650 A. at "Peyton's Level" by HER GRANDFATHER Henry Ashton." If this is correct, then clearly she was a daughter of Frances Ashton Turberville. Aternatively, Henry Ashton could have referred to her as as his granddaughter when she was a step-granddughter. Children: i George Lee Waugh b. ca. 1761/63, "Bell Plain", Stafford Co., VA, d. 1796, Stafford Co., VA. Died unmarried intestate. He was a lieutenant of a Company of Horse in the Stafford County Militia in 1789. ii Robert Turberville Waugh b. ca. 1764/70, "Bell Plain", Stafford Co., VA, d. 1795, VA. Died intestate and unmarried.
