Glenn Wolfinger Dill, was five years old when his father, David Seymour Dill, moved to Oklahoma from Kansas. Raised in Hobart, Glenn moved to Oklahoma City as a young man. Glenn married Zelma E. Vandergrift (also spelled Vandegrift in many of the historical records; I don’t know which is correct) in Hobart OK on January 26, 1910. Glenn was in the business of farm loans and investment banking, having inherited money from his father. Glenn’s investments became worthless in the stock market crash of 1929. At that point, Glenn moved to San Antonio, TX, and became a chicken farmer. They lived at 511 Hot Wells Blvd in San Antonio, TX. In the mid-1930’s, Glenn returned to Oklahoma City and to investing in the grain and produce markets. When that, too, was not particularly successful, he became employed in the mail room of an insurance company until his retirement. Glenn and Zelma lived at 1802 NW 28th Street, in Oklahoma City, OK. After Zelma’s death, Glenn remarried at the age of 77, to Maurine H King, in Oklahoma City, OK, February 5, 1965 in our home at 4917 N Vermont, Oklahoma City, OK. Glenn was a sweet, kind, generous man, deeply loved by his grandchildren. Glenn died in Oklahoma City, OK, August 10, 1969 and was buried in the Hobart cemetary. The cause of death was listed as left ventricular failure, resulting from myocardial infarction and coronary heart disease. He also had acute pericarditis.
