HEILD, Gershom, s. Gershom [sic, should be Thomas] and Sarah, [born] Sept. 4, 1727.
[Note: there is no other record of a Gershom and Sarah found in Chelmsford for this time period, while there is a son named Gershom born to Thomas and Sarah as shown by the will of Thomas, and the date of this record fits nicely in the middle of a four-year gap between the marriage of Thomas and Sarah, and the first child recorded specifically to them. Thus, this seems to be a very imaginable error of the town clerk repeating the child's name as the father's name.]
