Will of "Gershom Brigham of the Town of Marlborough ... yeoman", dated 4 Jun 1741, proved 23 Jan 1748[/49], mentions wife "Mahatebell", sons Joseph, Gershom and Benjamin [sole executor], daughters "Martha Biglow wife to Joseph Biglow" and "Abigail Snow wife to John Snow".
[The will is hard to read, and long, but one particularly important clause (because it proves he had two wives) is:] "Imprimus I give Demise and bequeath unto Mahatebell My beloved wife all and every part of the goods household stuff both beding and all other household goods of all sorts and bonds and bills of credit and the Incomes [arising?] and coming there by and cretuers that was her former husbands Jonathan Stimsons that was hers and she brought with her to me at our time of Marriage or that since came in to her possession and shall be with me and in my possession at the time of my Desease which she my s'd wife has not made up of or disposed of for our comfort together or otherwise by her own will before [consuming?] or by her disposed of during the time that we [?????] may Live together: and I allso further will and give..."
