G.A. VERHEEK, FORMERLY LOCAL CONTRACTOR, DEAD

   George A. Verheek, 80, formerly prominent local contractor and a resident of Grand Rapids for 55 years, died Saturday at his home, 845 Turner-av. NW.  Mr. Verheek had assisted in the erection of many public buildings, among which were the county building, city hall and St. Mary's church.
   He is survived by his widow, two sons, Abel G. Verheek and John G. Verheek; a daughter, Mrs. William Verhey; a brother, Casper Verheek all of whom live in Grand Rapids.
   Funeral services will be held at the residence at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon.  Interment will be in Washington Park Cemetery.

VERHEEK -- George A. Verheek, aged 80, passed away Saturday evening at the family home, 845 Turner-av., N.W. after a brief illness. Surviving besides the widow are two sons, Abel G. and John G. Verheek; one sister Mrs. William Verhey; one brother, Casper Verheek, and five grandchildren. Private funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the residence. Burial Washington Park Cemetery.
