Facts and Events
Rarely do we get a disagreement between two Fellows of the American Genealogical Society. In this case Robert Anderson objects to the notion that George Wallis of Portsmouth was the passenger aged 15 riding with his father Ralph Wallis strictly on the basis that he left no evidence of his existence in New England for several years before reappearing in Portsmouth. Patricia Law Hatcher affirms that he was son of Ralph. Perhaps Anderson overlooked the fact that George Wallis had spent time in Newfoundland after coming to New England before coming back to New England to settle? References
