Malcolm Jaquess and George J. Stults, both came to Jackson County about the same time, 1853. They were close neighbors and lifelong friends. I believe their fathers were also close friends. Isaac Jaquess, Malcolm’s father, is buried very close to George, in the Owens-Jaquess Cemetery, close to their property near Cummins Falls. Isaac and James Stults, George’s father, lived near each other in Roane County, then both families moved to Rhea County in the 1830s. Isaac and James worked on the roads and are named in Rhea County records.[10]
