BROTHER OF W. J. RICKER DEAD

George F. Ricker, a brother of William J. Ricker, of 58 Sacramento street, and a nephew of Albert H. Ricker, of Hudson street, died very suddenly in his hotel in Newton, N. J., June 12. He retired as usual the night before, and it was not known that he had passed away until 10 a.m. Death was caused by heart failure, brought on by indigestion. Mr. Ricker was highly esteemed by all who knew him. He was of the seventh generation of his family in this country, having descended from Maturen Ricker, who emigrated to Salem about 1660.

Mr. Ricker was in the employ of the United Shoe Machinery Co. for over twenty years, having charge of the lasting machines in the New York district. Besides the above named relatives, he leaves a widow and one son, who reside in Brooklyn, N. Y., and a daughter, Mrs. Fred Hollingshead, of Braintree, Mass., and another brother, N. Haley Ricker, of Elgin, Ill. The deceased was a thirty-second degree Mason, being a member of Daniel Carpenter lodge, No. 643, F. & A. M., Standard chapter, No. 252, R. A. M., and of the Newark, N. J., Shrine. He was also at one time captain of the Foxboro, Mass., camp, Sons of Veterans. The interment was at Kennebunk, Maine, June 16.

Mr. Ricker was born in Wells, Maine, April 7, 1866.

    A Card from Mr. Ricker.

I wish to inform the citizens of Cambridge and the public that I have sold (March 1) the steam machine carpet cleaning business established by me in 1872 to the Adams & Swett Cleansing Co., who have their works at 130 Kemble street, Roxbury. I wish to thank my many customers for their liberal patronage in the past, and I trust they will continue to bestow the same upon my successors. The old office will be continued at 649 Massachusetts avenue.
