254 George Kimball5 (Thomas4, Thomas3, Thomas2, Richard1) born in Bradford, MA, 29 Feb 1723-4; died Lunenburg, MA, 13 Oct 1790; married 21 Oct 1748, Sarah Mulliken, born 11 Feb 1721, died 27 Jan 1801. He removed to Lunenburg previous to 1748. He was a most active, prominent, and influential citizen of his adopted town. Before the commencement of the Revolution he was one of a committee to draw up resolutions to instruct their representatives in regard to the incroachments of the Crown. In 1774 he was one of a committee on tea, when the town resolved to purchase all the tea in town and store it, and not allow an ounce to be used, but consider any one who used tea as an enemy and a traitor. He was a captain in the Revolution, and a second lieutenant. He was on the school committee for three years, on the board of selectmen for eight years, was town treasurer for seven years, town clerk for six years, representative to the Continental Congress, 1774 and 1779, representative to the General Court, 1777-'78, and was a justice of the peace. Captain George Kimball served from Lunenburg, commencing 20 Apr 1775, for twelve days.
