The 1880 census had him at age 24 living in Auburn, Cayuga, New York, on Millier Street. He was an Ice peddler who was maried to Mary age 24 with children Jennie age 3 and George D. age 1. He was born in New York as was his mother. His father was born in Massachusetts. Mary's father was born in France and her mother in England while she was born in New York.

A letter from Lulu Hamilton Rossiter Harding said she only knew of one decendent in 1978--Jane Hamilton Newcomb, a granddaughter living in Denver Colorado.

1900 Census George was born in Mar 1853 married for 25 years. wife Mary born Jun 1855 son George D. born Aug 1878, ticket agent at a theatre. daughter Augusta M. born Aug 1880, a sales women in drugstore.

1920 Census Mary A. is widow son George D. a tin smith in hardware store.
