George was obviously not the father of Earl who was born long before he married Jane. According to the marriage record, this was George’s second wedding. The wedding took place at the residence of George Snook and the witnesses were Absolom & H.C. Wilson, J.P.

After their wedding, George and Jane moved to South Dakota. George’s letter said that it was very dry and that they were going to move if the rains didn’t come.

In the 1900 census, George and Jane were living in Adams County, Wisconsin with a boarder.
