Gene grew up fast, he was just starting school when The United States got in to World War II,

When He was in the 4th grade the family moved to a house about 1 mile from the Earlington School were he would attend school. He and his sister walked back and forth to school each day. The next year his little brother would start to school. Gene go a job caddying at the golf course across the road from were he live during the summer he was only 9 years old he was coming home one day in the spring of 1947 from town and ran in front of a car it hit him although he was not hurt bad just shook up and bruised. His mother insisted that they move so they bought a farm off of Brown Road about 5 miles east of Hanson (about 9 miles from Madisonville, KY.) He was now almost 12 and he started to help his dad farm. By the time he was 15 he was doing most of the farming as his dad work full time for Peabody Coal Co. and lots of time he had to work long hours, so Gene farmed, He finished the 11th grade and when he was 17 he join the navy. In September of 1956 he married Sylvia Root and in December he finished his tour in the Navy. While in the Navy he sail around the world twice, and saw the biggest part of the world

He was 5 ft. 11 in., weight 185 lb. 0 oz.

He was kill at the age of 38 in a water skiing accident

" Bradley Rites Funeral services for George Gene Bradley, 765 Homewood, Madisonville, will be conducted at 2.30 P.M. Friday at Harris Funeral Chapel by Dr. Harold J. Purdy, assisted by the Rev. Jimmie Russell. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John Ricci, Bill Grove, R. J. Robinson, Bill Crawford, Norman Purdy, John W(Dub) Alford, Omar Parish Jr. Wayne Browning and Johnny Mercer.

Members of the Provost Guard of Rizpah Temple will be honorary pallbearers.

Bradley 38, died at 9:20 P.M. Tuesday in the emergency room of Hopkins County Hospital from injuries received between 6 and 6:30 P.M. Tuesday in an accident while water skiing at Lake Barkley.

Bradley had been a shovel operator for Peabody Coal Company's River Queen mine in Muhlenberg County, since 1957.

He was born in Moberly, Missouri December 14, 1935, the son of George and Connie Isbell Bradley, 231 Daniel Drive, Madisonville.

Bradley attended Madisonville First Baptist Church. He was a member of VFW Post 5480, member and past master of E.W. Turner Masonic Lodge 548. F&AM in Earlington, Ky. member of Rizpah Shrine, UMWA Local 11178, West Kentucky Consistory of Scottish Rite, was Captain of the Provost Guard of Rizpah Temple and was a real estate salesman for Charles Ashby Real Estate. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Surviving, in to his parents, are his wife Mrs Sylvia Root Bradley, a daughter Denise, and a son Heath, all of 765 Homewood Drive, Madisonville; a brother Donald Bradley of Madisonville, two sisters, Mrs Leveta Lovelady, Herndon, Ky. and Mrs Lavona (Skeet) Downing of Boonville, INDIANA. and his parent-in-laws Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Root, 2907 Wesko Drive, Madisonville.

Friends may call at Harris Funeral Chapel. Masonic rites will be held at the chapel at 7 P.M. tonight."
