George Berridge was born in 1859 at Benefield in Northamptonshire, son of Mary Berridge, formerly Palmer, and her husband John Berridge, a carpenter and agricultural labourer. He appears in the 1861 census living with his parents and siblings in Benefield. Sadly George died when he was nearly two years old, being buried at Benefield on 4th June 1861.
