- Col. George Beall b. Upper Marlboro, Calvert Co 1695 of Col. Ninian [1625] , d Mar 15, 1780 at Georgetown (FMMB:91; age 81 at Census of 1776). Mar 4, 1707 received by deed of gift from father Ninian one Negro boy (FMMB:91; PGLO G:185-6) Referred to as Capt. George Beall (FMMB) or Col. George Beall (Heterick). Marriage m. 1715 (FMMB:92) or 1716 (Heterick) Elizabeth Brooke, b. 1699, d. Oct 2, 1748, dau of Col. Thomas Brooke and (2) Barbara Dent. Thomas was the grandson of Robert Brooke of de la Brooke and Mary Baker. First Settler in George Town. George's son Thomas built dwelling called Dunbarton; named Dunbarton and Beall Streets. Church. Sept 8 1719, Rev. John Fraser called inhabitants of Eastern Branch and Rock Creek settlements together to choose proper place for building a chapel. (FMMB:92; JHU Series, 1883, Vol I, part 6, p. 29)
- Jan 10 1726-7 George Beall contracted to build a vestry house for Prince Georges, PGC (Rock Creek Church), as per following specifications: 16 feet long, 12 feet wide, inside chimney, 8 feet pitch of roof, plank door, no windows, dirt floor, to cost 2500 lbs of tobacco. Jul 11 1738, George Beall gives account of a murder committed by Indians, and ordered to investigate certain Indian outrages. )FMMB:92; Md Archives XXVIII: 140-1) June 2, 1739 Captain George Beall paid £16/15/4d for public services by Assembly (FMMB:92; Md Arch, Vol XXVIII, folio ___). 1748 Captain George Beall commander of a Troop of Horse, PGC. Of 89 members, 17 were Bealls. (FMMB:92; Md Hist Mag, 1911, VI:56) This troop was a social affair consisting of members of Rock Creek Church. 1778 Took patriot's oath. Land. In father's will, 1717, received Rock of Dunbarton, 408 acres. 1739, 83 acres Long Life to Lord Baltimore surveyed for George Beall in now Washington County (FMMB:92; Scharf's Hist of W. MD.)
- Last Years. In 1770 was aged 75 when deponent in PG Co Court case. (ref AA:206; Peden:10) On Aug 22, 1776, aged 81 and living with son George Jr in Lower Potomack Hundred at time of Census (Brumbaugh I:181).
