OBITUARY FROM BURLNGTON TIMES-NEWS: Garr Coble Isley BURLINGTON — Mr. Garr Coble Isley, 84, of 4833 Friendship-Patterson Mill Road, died at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, at Hospice Home of Burlington after an illness of five and a half years. A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs.. Lela B. Isley, who survives, and the son of Mr. Lemuel M. Isley and Mrs.. Callie Coble Isley, both deceased. He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church and was retired from Kayser-Roth Experimental Division. He was a U.S. Army veteran (Sgt US Army) of World War II. Survivors other than his wife of the home include two sons, Dr. Michael Isley of Orlando, Fla. and Mr. Patrick Neal Isley of Cary; and a grandchild. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Friendship United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jesse Staton Jr.., pastor of McMannons United Methodist Church and the Rev. Brian Ballard, pastor of Low’s Lutheran Church. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, P.O. Box 2122, Burlington, N.C. 27216-2122.
