OBITUARY: "MILLER - On Thursday evening, February 4th, 1897 at 9:30 o'clock, at his home in Blue Earth City township, of heart trouble, Frederick William Miller, aged53 years 3 months. Deceased has been a resident of this county for many years and was well and favorably known in this vicinity. He was a generous and big-heartedgentleman, a good neighbor, and a man with whom it was a pleasure to have social and business intercourse. Mr. Miller was a perfect picture of health and up to the veryhour when Death claimed him, he was sitting up and visited with his family. It is the unexpected taking away of the father of the family, that makes it so much harder to bear. The deceased leaves a wife and a large family of grown children, and a host of friends and relatives to mourn his early demise. The funeral services were held at the GermanEvangelical church in this city, on Sunday afternoon and Rev. H. Plantikow preached the funeral sermon. A large concourse of friends and relatives were in attendance at theservices and followed all that was earthly of Mr. Miller to its final resting place, in the Blue Earth City cemetery." - SOURCE: The Blue Earth Post - Blue Earth (Faribault)MN -- Feb 1897
