Research Notes

From Cambridge City Tribune:

  • 1871 Sep 14, p 3 - Frank Conklin went out west a few weeks ago, growed (sic) up with the country and now comes home looking about as big as before, except his mouth, which has not grown a bit.
  • 1885 Oct 14, p 3 - FRANK CONKLIN, superintendent of the painting department of the first and third divisions of the Pan Handle Railway, and an old Cambridge boy, by his close attention to business, excellent taste and practical knowledge, is building for himself a good reputation with the company, and his work all along the line is being highly complimented. The following is an extract from a letter from W. Sargent, representing the Sherman-Williams Paint Company, of Cleveland, Ohio, to Mr. Conklin: "I regret very much not having the pleasure of meeting you last week. I went with Mr. Turner (Sup't) and saw your taste as displayed upon the new signal tower above the Union Depot. Permit me to say your colors look well and the tower becomes a nice picture to gaze upon. On my was from Richmond to Columbus I noticed how well most all the stations looked with regards to the tastes displayed in the painting."
  • 1920 May 6, p 6 - Frank Conklin and his sisters, Misses Hattie and Lillie Conklin, have purchased an automobile from which source much pleasurable enjoyment will come into their lives.
