    Francis Tyler (Roger), settled in Branford, Ct.; died there in 1712. … He drew a lot in Bradford in 1679; was "propownded for a freeman" at Hartford 9 May 1678. An iron worker. First heard of as an original signer of the "New Plantation and Church Covenant", 20 Jan 1667. Joined the Church 1688. His sister or sister-in-law was Mrs. Frisbie, wife of Ebenezer Frisbie. He was appointed guardian of his brother Charles, 1698. {See Branford Land Records, Vol. 1, p. 123; Vol. V, p. 143; N.E. Gen. Register, Vol. iii; Savage's N.E. Gen. Register, Vol. IV; Taintor's Extracts of Colchester Records). A copy of his will shows execution by "his mark", dated 4 Mar 1711-1712; probated 7 Apr following, and is recorded in New Haven Probate Records, Vol. IV, p. 10.
