Tinker, Francis E. SUN PRAIRIE

Francis E. Tinker, age 81, died peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009 at HospiceCare Inc. in Fitchburg. He was born on Aug. 12, 1928 in Greeley, Iowa and was the son of Edward and Margaret (Wiley) Tinker. He married Shirley Ryan on May 16, 1953 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Winthrop, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army. Frank worked for Northrup King Seed Co. in sales and retired after 43 years as a Branch Manager. He was an active member of Sacred Hearts Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was very active in the lives of his children and grandchildren. His hobbies were gardening, woodworking and photograp0hy. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; a son, Steven (Deborah) of Monona; three daughters, Susan Tinker of Monroe, Rebecca Cummens of Waukesha and Cheryl (Matthew) Hintze of Sun Prairie; five grandchildren, Benjamin, Patrick, Anna, Scott and Elizabeth; a brother, John (Gladys) of Manchester, Iowa; and a sister, Mary Ellen Capesius of LaMotte, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Phil, Joseph and Thomas; a brother-in-law, Robert Capesius; and grandson Ryan Hintze. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009 at SACRED HEARTS OF JESUS AND MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 227 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie. Monsignor Duane Moellenberndt will preside. Burial will be held at Sacred Hearts Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with a scripture service at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009 at the TUSCHEN-NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie and a visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Thursday.
