Rev. Francis Alexander Strother has two memorial pages at Find-a-Grave. The following comments and research by George Seitz copied from Rev. Strother's Find-a-Grave memorial page #141983969: "He served with the 43rd Regiment of Virginia Cavalry - Mosby's Partisan Rangers, in Company A. When his parole was issued at Winchester on 5 May 1865, he was seventeen years old. The soldier boy was 5'11" tall with a dark complexion, dark eyes, and dark hair. After the War he became the pastor of Bethany United Methodist Church in Purcellville. The Reverend Francis Strother founded Bethany. He was pastor of the Hamilton Circuit with three other churches: Harmony in Hamilton, Trinity in Rock Hill and The Grove at Woodbury, south of Hamilton. Elected Chaplain for the 1908 Reunion of the 43rd in Leesburg."

Note that on the 1910 census Frank A. Strother said he had been married three times. The children listed on the 1900 census had to be from the second wife who was said on the census to born in Ireland.
