Francis Seaver, a resident of Halifax VT, enlisted as a Sergeant in the Union Army on 27 August 1861. He enlisted in Company I, 4th Infantry Regiment of Vermont on 21 September 1861. He was wounded and taken a Prisoner of War on 4 September 1862 and paroled.
