- Will of Francis Berry, Union Co., KY. Transcribed by M. Griggs.
- Last will & testament of Francis Berry: "I, Francis Berry of Union County Kentucky being weak in body but sound of mind do make this my last will and testament. To my son, Francis Berry, I give 50 acres of land out of the tract on which I know live. to h__d off a go___ the tract on which my son William now lives. To my daughter Susannah Harris I give a young negro boy children by the name of Peter. The balance of my property consisting of the balance of the land on which I live with negros, horses, cattle, hogs, sheep, farming (valuables?), household and kitchen furniture of every description I give to my three daughters, Nancy Huston, Isabella, and Judith Berry to be equally divided amongst them. To my other children, Joseph George Berry, Rebecca Haynes, and Molly Riddle, I have nothing more to give save what I have already given and I do constitute and appoint my son William Berry and John Harris Executers to this my last will and testament given under my hand and seal this 9th day of Nov. 1819.

- Note: NB: Francis and his brother Benjamin were original settlers of Union County before 1810, and along with Peter Casey and their cousins, the children of Benjamin Berry and Elizabeth Thornley, laid out a town which later became Francisburg, named after Francis. This town later became Uniontown, Kentucky.
