    MOFFAT, Frances Enid
Frances Enid Moffat, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital and joined her Lord on January 20, 2011, at the age of 92. Frances, known as Frankie to her loved ones, was born in Beaumont, MB, on February 8, 1918 to parents Blake and Dolly Williamson. Blake pulled Dolly on a sleigh to the doctor for her delivery. Frankie's early life was spent in rural Saskatchewan and then Saskatoon. She married Alexander Thompson Moffat, a United Church minister, in 1942. Together they served the Lord and His people in the towns of Climax, Tantallon, Lorebern, Creelman, Viscount, Young, Wakaw and at the Royal Canadian Airforce Station Dana, all in Saskatchewan. Alex and Frankie moved to Grande Prairie at retirement to be closer to their children. After Alex's death in 1981, Frankie moved to Edmonton, where she led an active and full life, enjoying travelling, bowling, and weekly crib dates with her friends. She was also active as a volunteer baby cuddler in a program for teen moms in Edmonton. She spent her final years at Emerald Gardens in Grande Prairie, surrounded by her family. Frankie was predeceased by son David, husband Alex, and brothers Freddie and Ken. She is survived and greatly missed by <names of living individuals have been removed.> as well as eight grandchildren and their partners, and 13 great-grandchildren. The memorial service will be held at Oasis church on Saturday, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
